Course Description
This course introduces you to advanced router configurations, advanced LAN switching theory and design, VLANs, STP, trunking and threaded case studies. Topics include router elements and operations, adding routing protocols to a configuration, monitoring operations on the router, LAN segmentation, and advanced switching methods. At the end of the course you will be able to plan, design, and implement an advanced network topology, as well as identify and configure all the necessary equipment for the network.
 
Objectives
The objective of this course is to familiarize you with techniques used to design and configure a basic network topology. At the conclusion of the course, you will understand:
• How to configure the equipment that makes up a basic network topology • How to determine which routing protocols should be used in a given network • How to troubleshoot switched networks • How to implement VLANs and trunkings
