Criminal Justice Technology can encompass a variety of jobs and typically welcome people with backgrounds in, not only criminal justice but many other disciplines as well. People with technical backgrounds can easily transition into exploring the more technically demanding forensics. The employment possibilities within the traditional police, courts, and corrections areas are being expanded with opportunities in private business. Because of that CWA/NETT Academy is now offering classes catering to the Criminal Justice Technology Field. Associate Degree Criminal Justice Technology This Associates Degree is designed to provide knowledge of criminal justice systems and operations. You will be able to explore local, state and federal law enforcement, judicial processes, corrections and security services. Graduates of the AAS in Criminal Justice Technology will be knowledgeable in criminal justice systems, criminology, juvenile justice, criminal and constitutional law, investigative principles, ethics and community relations. Transfer credit Transfer Credits You can transfer up to 75% of coursework from other colleges and training programs. All courses will be reviewed for accreditation and applicability to the degree, but there are many ways your previous coursework can be accepted. On-The-Job Credit CWA/NETT Academy and Stanly Community College recognize that on-the-job training is applicable to many of the courses required for the Associates degree. Therefore, with the completion of basic training in your career, you may already have up to 12 credits without taking even one course.

Delivery The courses in the program are intended to mirror today's advanced learning environment. On-line: Classes are available five times throughout the year and typically runs 10-12 weeks. A dedicated instructor is assigned to you and is available throughout the training period. Training resources include books, manuals, labs, and multimedia experiences. NCPSO-CWA NCPSO is a division of the Communications Workers of America union. There are now 25,000+ public safety officer CWA members. These officers include the entire range of public safety services - municipal police officers, deputy sheriffs, state police, county and state correctional officers, EMS workers, communications dispatchers, probation officers, and firefighters. NCPSO-CWA is proud to work with CWA/NETT Academy to offer these programs to its members and those families in the labor movement. www.ncpso-cwa.orgStanly Community College TUITION REFUND POLICY Effective Fall 2007 A refund will be made only under the following circumstances:
Official withdrawal involves completing the proper withdrawal form through the Records and Registration office prior to or on the 10 percent date. Students must request a refund in writing prior to or on the 10 percent date of the semester. Stanly Community College TUITION REFUND POLICY-ON LINE CLASSES A 100 percent refund will be granted within the first fifteen days of the official student registration date or the official first day of class whichever is later for the fall and spring semesters and eight days for the summer session. The student must request in writing to be withdrawn from the class and to receive a refund of tuition and fees within the first fifteen days from the student's registration date or from the first official day of the class whichever is later for the fall and spring semesters and eight days for the summer session. No refunds will be granted after this period. Students who wish to request an exception to the above policies must do so in writing to the Vice President of Student Development. The Vice President of Student Development and the Chief Financial Officer will consider the request and respond to the student within five days. The decision of the Vice President and the CFO is final. Requests made after the end of the semester cannot be considered.
